Description: Radiance is a simple Capture the flag map. There is a large lake seperating two simple bases. The flags are open to capture on all sides, so you have to be on your guard throughout the duration of the map.

This is my first Tribes 2 map. I hope you like it.

It is recommended that you turn on Interior enviroment maps for this map, as well as "draw sky box".

this map would be good if it had Vehicles and a few more invs. TseTse is thinkin about addin it to his newbase MP but said it needs VPads and more invs too. I sugest u either add Vpads n' more invs or make a 2nd one of it with them. like RadeienceV2.0 or radeienceV

Amazing map, would like to see better HO routes, possibly closer bases. Someone mentioned three turrets guarding flag? I saw none. That flag stand ownz, a myriad number of ways to hit it.

Excellent map and a brilliant first accomplishment, displaying superb skill with both Terragen and Worldcraft. Spacious and functional bases with spectacular textures and particles abound--a top notch creation throughout. Well done!

i was wondering how every one can get such nice smooth hills? Im workin on my first map and thats what i rely have trouble with.

Very nice looking map and lots of smooth rolling hills looked pretty n all. Playability though is this maps downfall, the ski routes are slow and unimaginative leaving little to skill. The distance to enemy base is far too long and leaves almost no room for HO. On top of this 3 turrets guard a flag area that would be VERY difficult to budge any HOF due to the canopy.

hehe, I hate vehicles. Actually, as a light, I had no problem traversing the distance across the lake with an energy pack. It didn't take long at all, as long as you stay on the platforms or go around the edge. It's designed to hold a lot of people in the map, so no matter where you are, you should find someone to fight. Personally, I think vehicles would really take away from the map. Half the fun of the map is in getting to the other base ^_^

Awesome looking map. Textures and the sky rock. Just one complaint, no vehicles. Each base is approximately 1,400 meters distant, and that's a long walk even for a light. Because it's a longer map, (which is awesome by the way) and lacks any type of vehicles, gameplay will be extremely slow. How about adding a vehicle pad, on the roof of the base? Even if you just offered air vehicles, it would really help gameplay. Also you may want to add one or two base turrets as well. Overall though, a very clean, fun, superb looking map, it just needs some additions to enhance gamplay. But great job for a first try! WOW!

Kudos. This map has tons of character. It oughta be a blast in large groups, and a real challenge even with the wide open spaces... which are good things in my book.

Not bad at all, especially for a first map. I was especially impressed with the new sky texture, and I'm sure people will be ooh-ing and ahh-ing over that for quite some time. The custom bases are pretty decent. I'm not a big fan of buildings with only one entrance, though. It's nice to give the defenders a means of escape. I also found the "canopy" over the flag stand a little odd, though I can imagine famers lining its spidery framework with turrets. Not that that's a bad thing, just a little out of the ordinary. The terrain is nice and smooth, but I wouldn't be surprised if you get flamed by the "elite" ladder players because of the lack of ski routes. As for myself, I think that the terrain fits the scenery well...a small harbor at sunset. The islands and the floating platforms in the water should provide some interesting gameplay as well. Besides the beauty of the water and sky, however, there is a glaring lack of scenery. There aren't very many trees, and no rocks or other eyecandy, save for a few particle emitters. No ambient sound effects either. Never skimp on the tiny details; they turn a good map into a great map. I also think this map is quite large for one that has no vehicles. Cappers will be quite exhausted after a round trip. At least the water is somewhat cloudy though, giving heavies a chance to approach the enemy base undetected. A smart defense in this map would include pulse sensors on the undersides of the floating platforms. Altogether, I think it's quite good. If this is your first mapping attempt, I'd love to see some of your future work.

Excellent map. Like the new interiors and the fishes in the water. Over all the map is gorgeous. As a BR'er I think it is a little to easy to take control of the other teams base. The one entrance is such a choke point. Other wise, I like it.

thanks for the feedback. I'll make the suggested changes. There IS a repair pack, or at least, there should be. Last time I checked, it's on the middle island (the one with the tree and the rock on it). I thought I should have made that more noticeable ^_^; LOL, oh well. As for the blaster... I never put that in... I probably made a mistake editing. I'll fix it pronto. Thanks!

Ok I have looked it through. The follow is a "review" type comment: First, awesome textures. Very nice sky. And the lighting/ambient lighting/fog color/textures all work nicely together. Gives you that nice detergent-carefree summerday-wonderland kinda feel. The environment works really well. The terrain could use some touch-ups because of the mirroring... You do not need that generator. If you want to power something, but not have a generator: Go to the team (or any) simgroup, add a dynamic field named "providesPower" and set it to "1". Then that simgroup (and all under it) will have power... The building and platform stick to a nice architechure. The only problem I see is having log jam problems. Especially with the inventories in those pits. But that might not be a problem... Another problem I noticed is that there is no repair pack. And while you should keep engineers around, if you get base raped, you gone for the rest of the game... This map will be welcomed by snipers. Especially since you can stand on the first platform and shoot all the way into the enemy base. Thus having an long opportunity to hit any spawner going into the base for inventory... And what is with that blaster next to the diamondsword flag? :) Overall I give this about a 93\%. Clean up the power with that suggestion, get rid of the stray blaster (unless its a signature ;) ) and maybe add a repair pack somewhere. Again VERY NICE sky/textures/buildings/lighting.

I forgot to mention - the terrain textures and water textures are custom made by me. The sky was made with Terragen. thank god for terragen!
