| Description: |
This CTF map is mostly water save for a few small islands. The best way to get around is to use vehicles. In fact trying to cap without an energy pack or a vehicle can be very difficult. There is a capturable base with vehicle pad, inventories and spawn field on a small island half way between team bases. The capturable base has the only vehicle pad that hosts land vehicles. The main base consists of two bunkers with inventories and turrets, each powered separately. So if one generator is destroyed, only one bunker, one turret and large sensor is disabled. The other generator powers one bunker, one turret and the vehicle dock. No MPB's or HAPC are available at any of the vehicle stations, but two respawning HAPC are available at dock side for each team. Since the teams bases are on small islands, this mission plays a little like a siege game. Where as you will find groups of players bombarding the island base with tank mortars from far off shore. Bombers can be a big threat if the turrets or down. Defending shrikes will play a big role in defense. The map ships with modified AI files that I have been working on for a few months. The Bots are not perfect yet, I am working on them. This is my first map and I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it. |

in the screenshots it looks fogless,but in the game the fog is so dense that with the scout fighter i crashed into a hill two times!

downlowded this once and thought it would be perfect with one actual intelligence but found that I could only have fun on this one in a scout with a shield pack or a bomber and your bot code makes that posible

I just downloaded this map and tried it with a clean install of tribes 2. I had no problems with this map. I don't want to insult anybody's computer.

I've since upgraded to an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro videocard and I have to say something about small islets of land jutting out of the fog.
Nvidia Detonators and Catalyst drivers appear to have different interpretations of fog !! Using an Nvidia videocard, I'm almost certain to slam right into a piece of land jutting out of the sea in the thick fog.
However with an ATI card, I can spot the piece of land in the thick fog miles away and avoid it.
Sorry to post this here BUT I'm not sure whether anyone have this issue.

Yes the Bots use the Missile Launcher to kill Turrets, Sensors and Vehicles. The also throw Flares to defend against the same. They throw Mines, place Cameras, use the Cloaking Pack, Sensor Jammer Pack and fire the Mortar at you from a range of up to and including 400 meters away.

Very good map. Not only do AI bots fire mortar, they use missiles too. Good thing is the flag is not so easy to take. Especially like the battles in water with the AI bots. The EAX effects r so good on my Creative Audigy. Combination of Living Jungle with Island Hop !! Great Mixture.

Well thank you Lextor. I will except an A from a veteran like you as a compliment. But the map does have Tanks and Bikes you just have to look a little harder.

Great map. Might incorporate some of the bot enhancements into Rev Mod. Would be an A+ except: no tanks or bikes for some reason, and serverside terrain has too many hills under the lake's water.

Hey Lagg Great map. I got to see this one grow up so to speak. thanks for letting me help with the Beta tests. one of the best shrike maps I have seen yet. and your bots are nasty sob's!!! hard to defend harder to cap, without good teamwork this map will make for some tough games. Hey when are you going to figure out how to make the bots use satchel charges?!?
