| Description: |
Einfach, German for simple. This map lives up to it's name. Two small bases, very close to one another, no vehicles, just you and your team. Fast-paced and exciting, this is a cappers map. |

The only problem I have with it (I never had this problem, but it crossed my mind) is the same one PJ mentioned down there. One thing that I thought of was that could be used very strategically. The team destroys the enemy's solar panel, then proceeds to the generator, then repairs (I hope HTML works here...) the enemy solar panel to trap the gens. This would be very effective, but then think if TD is off. The gen is out until some newbie/nice guy destroys the solar panel again. Anyway, excellent map, I'm adding it to my server. |
| Grade: A | Submitted by: Tronno - 07/23/2001 07:07 1557 | | THIS MAP ROCKS!!! The bases are in turret range of each other which makes for some great AA sniper kills. Snipers have a field day on this map, but insane mortar spamming can ruin the fun for some. I like the fact that the spawn points for both teams are in the same place - at the beginning of every game all the players take part in a HUGE close quarters battle, where only the skilled and lucky survive. One complaint: the spawn points are far above the ground and VERY far away from the bases. Move them between the bases and you'll be fine. You can leave them above the ground if you like, since I prefer having a height advantage. =) |

I was able to blow the turret and sensor with one non-ammopack load of mortar rounds without a targeting beacon, or a reticle. Jugs and assaults may dominate the close areas, but snipers can hide far off and get kills on NMEs that take bad damage, so there's something for everyone. :) |

The Badlands structures look nice on the snow terrain. The terrain is both interesting looking and functional for the type of play facilitated by the close bases.
However, for being such a simple map, I expected more attention to detail. The generator/solar interplay has not been executed with care, like PJ mentioned. Though in good locations, items don't seem to have been placed carefully (sensors, flagstands, etc).
With a little more work, this map can be nudged up into the A range.
Nice work, Scuba. I hope you will continue to crank out maps, but I also hope you will give each of them the amount of focus they deserve. |

The only thing I'd change is I would make the Generator Force Fields green team fields. That way if you repair the solar generator when someone is inside the generator room, they don't become trapped (which happened to someone on my team toady when I repaired the solar gen.) Plus, if you repair the solar generator not knowing the inside generator is not up, you have no way to get to it without blowing up your own solar generator. Besides that minor little thing, great job! Definitely an A.

You really should have had them a bit more spaced, to make flag grabs harder. Otherwise, it's just Broadside with ground bases. But the terrain features, like the ridges and stuff were pretty cool. Oh, and when I went to get the flag, the AA turret scared the crap outta me! |

I was also looking through your screen shots and noticed a blue character. Is he a custom character that you use?
