This sacred ground is used for pagentry and medal ceremony's. However even in times of celebration violence can take hold, and whole battles could be fought over sacred ground. The Ceremony area is located on Gelatinus Prime, a planet known for it's unuseual water properties... This map need only be downloaded by Server Admins. |

You can crash the server pretty easily, and bouncy water gets boring after a while. Almost 2.5 years after I first played it, it just doesn't hold the same feel. |

As soon as you start, get into ASSAULT armor and get a mini-inventory station. Head past the Storm area to a small island thats hidden behind another island not to far away(maybe 200m away) and set up your inv. station. Be sure to stay in ASSAULT so you can set up turrets and pulse sensors. Then, if you die, nobody but you and maybe a select few on your team will be able to get supplies after the real inv. stations explode. Another is to get sniping stuff and head towards the big log-arch thats to the side. You can walk inside the wider end and just snipe from there because nobody will see you. They will catch on after awile, though. Well, thanx for listening. |

From this moment on i was literally rolling on the floor laughing. I found it quite hilarious that i couldnt stop bouncing, and kept flying myself over the small base (very hard to land on) but overal this map is great, and entertaining when your having a bad day. |

The bouncing water thing? who would have thought to do that, but it just got you stranded bouncing faster than you can run out into the mountains(not to mention a nightmare for the bigger armors). Plus it was a one floor short little bridge on bouncey water. Have you even played it before sending it out? |

We have some people complain about framerate though. It does bog down with a lot of players, but I think that's due to everyone being so close on the platform. If you set up clamp turrets, one on each platform around the flag and on by the inv stations, you can rack up major points! I had over 80 points by myself in one game! Totally hilarious! I hopped completely off the map on the Wildcat one time... Didn't know it could reach 30,000 feet in altitude! LMAO!
This is meant to be a fun map, to break the monotony of serious CTF. That's what makes it so entertaining in a rotation of maps on a dedicated server. I hope there are more Jello maps that come in the future! Good work! |

I saw your post on the Tribes 2 mapping forum, and it inspired me to play around with the water properties, and I've discovered a bunch of neat effects as well (you've inspired me to make my own "jel-o" map, but don't worry, it's not gonna be anything like yours). If you haven't figured it out yet, this map is all about bouncing around on a gelatin ocean, which is both it's weak and strong point. First the strong: I see some CRAZY antics happening on this map - you just can't beat bouncing around like a maniac, that's just too cool. Weak: The map seems like nothing more than a way to show off water properties. That's not entirely bad, but there's really not much here. Deathmatches and such can be a hell of a lot of fun, but I could picture rabbit being like this: guy grabs map and bounces too high for anyone to shoot him for the rest of the game. You only touch the ground for a second and then you're back in the air...If the flag is dropped, good luck getting it back - that thing is going to bounce into the horizon (maybe water density could be turned down a wee bit to prevent these problems). Also, I noticed the vehicles dropped in this mission are essentially useles. For some reason they take water density to the extreme - I drove the hovertank on to the water gently and bounced into the air about 10 miles. I didn't have as much trouble with the grav cycle, because it started on the water, but as soon as I ramped over a bit of land, it was good bye to that vehicle.
All in all, this map is still very enjoyable, and shows mappers that they don't have to go the way of the typical CTF map - experiment a bit and you might get something as zany as this. Good work, all in all, but room for improvement. |
