Description: Brimstone is comprised of identical opposing bases facing off over an ocean of magma. Separated only by a few small platforms and a large central tower. You have access to vehicles, but only shrikes and havocs. An energy pack is your best friend no matter what armor you're wearing. Hold that tower, and it's twin turrets will help you dominate the opposing team. Precision landings are key to surviving on the platforms. One false step (or one spinfusor) and you're in for a lava bath. Use your transports to move heavies onto the tower, and hold it as best you can. It's the key to victory or defeat!

Ok.. just posted basically a revised version of this map as "Brimstone2". Some changes: - Team-only forcefield at the tower to make it less of a random kill-zone - Repositioning of tower turrets and base solar gens - Added a few more platforms to take some dependence off the tower for a safe place to land - Added a repair pack to the tower (that was an error on my part in Brimstone) - Added a small platform/bridge thingy to the bottom of each base to make the belly entrance easier to access. Hopefully that'll shake things up some. - Changed some generally aesthetic things, like things hovering over the surface they're supposed to be on, even if only a little.. yes I am anal retentive! I released Brimstone2 seperately simply because I wanted to leave the option open for people who actually like the original version of the map. But I do recognize and appreciate the constructive criticism. I don't think I'll be reworking anymore of the maps though..

I guarantee you that this map was not arbitrarily chosen. Had this running last night on a full house (~40 people) and it was a hoot. No single weapon really seemed to own on this map, and the base layout/near-open flag placement made for some fast action. A cowboy can grab the flag pretty easily, but it's not so easy to get back in one piece without a vehicle handoff. I have mixed feelings about the central objective. It changed hands VERY often during our test-drive, and didn't seem to be a *VITAL* asset - holding it makes it easier to win though. It appears that there's no repair pack in the objective, though. Although I don't consider the map 100\% perfect (see above for suggestions ;) ), it is certainly the most all-around entertaining map i've seen lately, and absolutely worth investigating. Especially if you dig BigRocks. Very few maps of this type scale up well, so Gonk either has really good mapper instincts or he just plain lucked out here. Either way, good job, and I look forward to mo' T2 maps from him in the future. ;)

i like it but it has one FATAL flaw... I suggest u correct it and make a new version... the center objective NEEDS a green team forcefeild over the top opening....if it is NOT there the tower is practically useless...USELESS check out "feilds of fire" they used the tower with a force feild on the top opening...and its a fave map on the servers...i suggest u do the same.

I think they picked this one at random.

(Can't grade my own map!) Anyways... wow.. I can't believe I got map of the week. This was more of a learning the interface of the new editor map than anything.. never expected it to get such a response! Thanks! :)
