How long, exactly, did it take u to make it anywayz? The flames in the wrecked city and the ring of fire, all ell thought out. Great job on the new additions with the cave and the loop, although i would try to find a way to smoothe it out a lil so u dont blow up as much. The only prob i have with it is the 15 minutes it took to light the damn thing! You should have included the lighting file with the map. other than that i have no problem with giving this project an A+! |

The only problem I saw was the loop. Loops dont seem to work. I don't think they do, even if you turn the grav down. Nice attempt though. (the loop) My suggestions: Station more Vehicle Pads at 'checkpoints' So that, if someone dies really far, they can fly a shrike to where they died, them get a gravcycle and try again. |

But was is worth it. This map really is over-the-top, in terms of eyecandy and design, but I gotta say it's still remarkable. I mean, WOW. It gets an A+++ for design concepts, but like an F for gameplay just due to the reality of it all. Getting the map open, solo, was hard enough, and the track...! This really needs an overhaul, but I hope the heart of the map remains, and remains stable. I'd suggest going Client Side, and simplifying things with custom interiors where possible. Including the lighting files might not work, but I'm not sure. My fps was generally OK, but dropped too much, at times. Folks need to check this sucker out! Likewise, I have to add that many of the race maps need to balance brilliant concepts with viable gameplay... |

This map contains many of the ideas I had been working on since I first opened the editor (including realistic fire and caverns), as well as a loop :), but relights can be HELL. If the map took less time to light I would give an A+. |

| Grade: B | Submitted by: TheEagle - 08/23/2001 10:08 2211 | | This is (simply said) one of the best race maps I've ever seen. Doing the course is pretty difficult with a lot of obstacles and if you're not carefull you have to walk a long way home to get a new bike.
The however 1st big downside from this map is the time it takes to do the lightning, with my PIII 800 and 256 mb ram it took about 15 minuts to load the mission. It also ate away all my ram and I had to use about 50 mb's of virtual memory.
It however is recommed to restart T2 after this, then load the map again and it will use the existing lightning file which saves a lot of time and a lot of ram.
The 2nd big downside is the amount of objects in the game, that really slows the game down a lot.
Overall it's a good race map but only consider to download it if you've got a high-end pc.

It crashed my system as soon as I entered the part with the 3000 flame throwers. This level is a lag machine. You might as well have made the map clientside, since it takes so long to light, and the server disconnects you if you're lighting too long. You should have included the mission lighting file since it can be downloaded in far less time than it takes to light the mission. I don't give a damn how good a map is, if it is impossible to play it with 700mhz, 192mbRAM, and TNT2 32MB, then it deserves a low grade. My grade increased from a complete F because the map is cool...for super high end godlike systems. |

| Grade: None | Submitted by: lead Falcon - 08/20/2001 11:08 2147 | | the loop IS possible, though the game physics make it very diffucult. you have to go just the right speed so that you dont hit the top, but fast enough so you dont fall. see, the game thinks that if you are upside down and touch something, you are flipped over on the ground. the loop is really pushing the limits of the code but is very possible. after all the practice testing it i can make it every time. you just have to keep your nose up and go slow on the way up, then boost on the way down so you dont fall... ok? |
