A very popular map, this is another idea that I've had since my Tribes 1 days but didn't get around to working on until recently. Back in Tribes 1, this wouldn't have been practical because the game engine was more fragile when it came to large numbers of objects, and you couldn't scale the rocks. Like with Twin Towers though, there were lots of other ideas to do in Tribes 2 before tackling it... but then Pantheon was released, and it inspired me to get off my ass and do this. The map consists of two fairly simplistic bases with the flags out in the open, and only one nearby base turret. The terrain is graceful and flat, and there is a capturable stonehenge-like circle of stones in the center. All of the base turrets in the mission start out unequipped, and thus are useless until someone installs barrels. The stone circle is the only area on the map that gets struck by lightning, and it makes for a fun and interesting combat area. You'll find that tanks and MPBs are very important on this map, perhaps more so than the air vehicles. |

| Grade: A+ | Submitted by: Ubernator - 07/27/2004 01:07 10595 | | I have been away from T2 for quite a while... this is one of the first maps I thought of when I reinstalled. A classic! |

| Grade: A+ | Submitted by: Capto Lamia - 08/23/2002 08:08 7248 | | I dont think the vpad makes a differance in gameplay. I have played this map over 100 times as of this post. Its a great map. It may not include every stratagy that the game alows but its playablity is awesome. For pilots this is the best map ever. |
| Grade: A | Submitted by: milkydoo - 03/01/2002 05:03 4906 | | The difference between A and A+ is really pretty slim, so the grade isn't a big deal. This is an excellent and fun map, but I do have one issue with it.
One team's Vpad is about 15feet/5m off the ground, while the other teams is flush with the ground except for the right front corner.
Balance is key in this game, and this part of it is pretty off balance.
The high Vpad gives the team advantages (placement of motion sensors, turrets, INV's and temporary bomber protection) and disadvantages (cloakers and enemy players hiding underneath), while the other side has just the opposite. IMO, this does make a significant difference.
Otherwise, great map! |
| Grade: None | Submitted by: Lexor - 02/02/2002 07:02 4622 | | A+ !! I know I've given it an A already, but after playing this map over and over and over and over... esp. in the Shifter mod... I really can't find anything I want changed, so I wish I could change my grade to THE top grade (site won't let me add a new grade). Necrobones likes to push the envelope with some of his maps, but it seems Necro made THIS one for EVERYONE. Enjoy !! |

| Grade: A | Submitted by: Lexor - 11/05/2001 09:11 3339 | | This one makes for some fine ground vehicle battles, something we need more of... great work Necrobones. |
| Grade: A+ | Submitted by: =H|C=Jedi - 10/31/2001 03:10 3214 | | just WOW this is the starting map for all of my servers thanks for the hard work everything is perfect |

| Grade: A | Submitted by: SylockAssassin - 10/04/2001 12:10 2912 | | damn d.n.a give it a rest u must really hate bones just give it up ur the only that dislikes his work plus i also seen this one pre-released and it was a round the same time the dev team maps came around so he didn't have time to rip this off. i love the game play on this map very aggressive and the captureable rocks makes it deadly using vehicles as a effort to purge the ones holding the stones. very fast pace and makes for a great game. thank you

| Grade: A+ | Submitted by: Riatha - 10/03/2001 10:10 2902 | | Yet another solid map. While the bases have a serious lack of defense, the simplicity of the bases allow heavy customization. The defense really has to be on their toes to prevent enemy cappers from using a touch-and-go style capping run. I especially like the green lightning =) |
