| Description: |
Blade of Darkness is a return to NightSword, the Siege map that started my mapping career off with nothing but As and Bs. NightSword is a close-quarters confrontation between the attackers and the defenders. This time around, there are no complex scripts or required teamwork to get in the way of the offense beating the hell out of the defense. There is a backdoor to the defensive base, which would be the front door, used for fast captures. If the front door is too well guarded, the offense can blow up the Remote Generator to allow access in many other ways. Once inside, the offense must blow up the Main Generators, which are located at the top of the base, to lower the forcefields around the switch. However, the switch is literally surrounded by turrets, making it nearly impossible to make a clean touch on the switch. The defense also has two defensive generators that can be destroyed to shut down turrets in their base, especially that ridiculously placed ELF turret that is inside the base. Just because the offense starts out close to the defense doesn't mean that the defensive attack is encouraged. The offense has FOUR bases in the immediate area, forcing the defense to actually work on defense. Each base is also equipped with a plasma turret. If you're ready for a Siege map that has an adrenaline rush even greater than Alcatraz, then check out the Blade of Darkness... |
