Description: Here you go again. More custom goodness from you know who.

Ok here's the layout. Each base consists of 4 structures.

1. The flag stand is the center of each base. Very open and exposed, but easily defended.

2. Behind the flag stand is the bunker. It contains 3 inventory stations and both generators as well as the emergency repair pack.

3. and 4. are the floating pods. Elevated on both sides of the flag stand these pods make perfect watch towers and sniper homes. Each has an inventory station and a teleporter (so you can jump between the two pods) Each has a FF ramp leading up to the bottom entrance. A single good defender can use these pods to great advantage.

One gen powers the pods and base defenses, while the other powers the bunkers Invstations and Vpad (which is located on top of the bunker, and includes all vehicles but the MPB) There are 4 turrets per base and include 3 plasma and 1 missile. The bases themselves are 1800m apart so vehicles will come in handy. The spike clusters scattered around the map make great cover if in a fire fight and can cause some serious damage to an unsuspecting grav cycle ;) I tried to give the map a nice open expansive feel but you can be the judge of that.

And as always if you download the map, after you play it please come back here and let me know what you think. It doesn't hurt to grade it either ;)

So until the next one pops out, have you some fun.

Thank you for the great review Doc. It's this kind of response that every mapper hopes for. Again thank you. And I couldn't think of anyone better to start doing reviews than you. For one you know the ins and outs of mapping and you pay close attention to details. I give you two thumbs up, keep up the good work.

On second thought, I just became a reviewer.. (ya!) so that below post will be an actual review. Woohoo!

Well, since I'm not a real reviewer.. I'll just post here what I *would* have said:------------ Unholy Ground has, first of all, one of the best environments I've seen in a map. From the ambient noise, which is not too loud, nor too quiet, all the way to the ground textures, it gives the impression of a dead, evil land, with a thin layer of dust on the ground, ready to be whipped up at any moment by a vile windstorm. Of course, the windstorm never happens (alas for the limitations!), but it feels great, nonetheless. The sky fits in perfectly with the map, as do the structures. The structures are small and unobtrusive in one manner, yet at the same time they jump out and grab you by the throat. One is instantly reminded of UT:2003 with all the spines and such. Particularly impressive is the flagstand. This consists of four "arms", arching to meet right over the flag. To grab the flag, you must fly in.. no dropping from the heights. Even though it is so much in the open, it is still fairly easily defended. Mines, satchel charges, and the guard towers cover the area easily, not to mention farmed ground near and around it. Speaking of the guard towers: these pieces play an important part of the map. Two per team, they hover high in the air over the land, allowing snipers or scouts to scan the battlefield with ease. In addition to an inventory station, there is a teleporter, allowing you to jump from tower to tower in an instant. Snipers can prevail on this map.. the hills making up the playing field seem designed to hide a scout from enemy eyes, and the distance in between flags allows for high speeds while skiing, and many, many deuling areas. The distance is just about the only thing I found 'off' in this map. Perhaps a personal taste, but I found the long meters to favor light armor.. light with no energy, medium, and Heaven forbid, a heavy (!) will find very hard going without a vehicle. All in all, though, an incredible map. This is one I wouldn't mind playing quite often.. I had an absolute blast. (So did Celios, who was the unwitting victim of a satchel TK, but that is another story..) Excellent work!!

Very spikey looking... Maybe I'll run my testing server and try it out... (assuming T2 ever comes back online.... the stinkin servers are down again and I can't do a LAN server, UEs EVERYWHERE when I try...)
