Nomad - Tribes 2 Server Monitor and Admin Tool
Requirements · Support · Screenshots · Future Enhancements
Description:
Nomad is a Tribes 2 server monitoring and administration tool for Linux
and Gnome. The name came from mixing up some of the letters from the words
"Monitor" and "Admin".
I wrote Nomad so that I could monitor the player list and scores
on my Linux machine while I was playing Tribes 2 on my Windows machine.
Since I started writing Nomad, I found other useful features to add, such
as the telnet console, dialog boxes for automating common commands, and
the master server query window for quickly finding certain servers.
This program is NOT intended for mass public consumption. I have
only been developing Gnome applications for a short time, and I have never
tested any of them on any machines other than my own. If you are comfortable
with Perl, installing Perl modules, and Linux/Gnome in general, you can
probably get this program running with little effort. However, if you are not
a Perl programmer, then don't even bother downloading this software. Several
non-standard Perl modules are required to make it even think about running, so
you must be comfortable with installing Perl modules from the CPAN.
Requirements:
The following software is required for Nomad to run:
Support:
Due to the "unpolished" nature of this software, I am unable
to offer support of any kind. However, if you are a Perl programmer, and
have very specific questions about installing or tweaking this program,
feel free to email me. I love to talk shop about Perl, so I will do my best
to help. I cannot however teach people how to install Linux, Gnome, Perl,
or Perl modules. Any support inquiries of that nature will be ignored.
Sorry, but my time is very limited and as much as I'd love to help people
learn more about Perl and Gnome applications, I just can't do it.
