Review:
The first glance of Atlantis II will take your breath away. The map is simply beautiful and holds the possibility of some really interesting gameplay. A definite vehicle map, Atlantis II would do well to be on rotation on servers that cater to the vehicle enthusiast. As a possible hardcore competition map, it would miss by a long mark.

Atlantis II is a large map close to the size of Reversion. The terrain consists of small hills with twisting waterways. The two bases are essentially the buildings from the siege map Trident with both being situated atop a very tall, very steep mountain. At the bottom of each base a secondary outpost is situated complemented by the vehicle pad, sensor, and turret. In the center of the map, an objective surrounded by old ruined structures guard a central sensor net and turrets. The flags are on a top ledge of the buildings surrounded by a forcefield with two AA turrets looking over it. The generator to the Flag force field is simply a small solar panel that is easily destroyed. The main gens of each base are placed in an extremely tight room accessible by a small hole in the floor of the base that only lights seem to be able to fit into. Added to this gen defense, another solar panel keeps a forcefield up to keep would-be gen busters from shutting down the power. The gameplay of this map was interesting at best. There was alot of possibility for some very good shrike fights, and the action does heat up alot near the lower base. However, the possibilities of this map easily becoming a stalemate are too great for my liking. The flag area is too defensible if a team were to plant turrets all around it, especially with the forcefield being a further obstacle to capping the flag.

Overall, I had alot of fun on this map. It is something that would be alot of fun on a public server, but I dont see it going anywhere close to the competition scene.
