Review:
Axis of Power will test the defense in their ability to react to changing situations, challenge the offense to stay tight and coordinated, and set everyone in a chaotic, fast-paced match. Don't miss this one...

The two teams start off far enough apart.. the offense makes a quick ski down the hills, and then comes the titanic clash of powers.

As Offense, you're going to want to concentrate on a pair of generators. Tho' there's 4 on the map, you only need the East/West set, OR the North/South set.. Nort/East or any other combination just won't work. Once they're down, the corresponding forcefields are dropped, so be sure to hold the gens for a second while your teammate slips in for the capture.

When on Defense, the best thing to do is have someone farm the area quick, and get defense up on the ridges. Once the others get up on the hilltop, mayhem breaks loose.. it's such close-quarters there. Also, beware, because the forcefields are No-Team, meaning that if you rush in to defend the place.. you could very well get trapped!

Defending the generators should always happen indirectly.. you don't stand a chance actually being in the gen pit, since it's such a target for fire (and there's no way for you to get out quick).. even a Jug's Shield Pack wouldn't last him long. A fast and hurried repair is your best bet.. then get the heck out!

Playability is a little down (just a bit!), since it really is not for "newbies". You need to have a small bit of experience, for skiing, close-quarter dueling, and trying to dance around avoiding fire while dumping mortars down at the gens. (this requires a bank shot off the roof of the building, firing through a window.. that is a bit o' skill involved)

Attention to detail is well earned at above average.. good use of terrain, as well as building locations and orientation.

Balance is remarkably even between defense and offense. While defense has a hard time of it, once they make it to the top.. then they are pretty well set up for a while. Offense has the advantage, but only if they keep a tight lid on everything.

Item Placement score is good as well. The only thing is that all the inventories are so much in the open.. yet there's a repair pack close, so I won't take any points off.

Mechanics are so well executed.. this is a very impressive bit of work, with the gameplay going down smooth and polished.

Everyone I played with liked this map.. and I had a lot of fun. There are many aspects brought into play here that I've not seen done before.. it's simply amazing. This map is a new experience that everyone should give a shot.. I can almost promise you'll enjoy it.
