Description: This is a completely under-water map, taking place at the bottom of the sea. It's creepy to be floating around, hearing the sound of your air system and bubbles... It's dark and murky, but the visibiliy is not unreasonable. I've found that reactions to this map have been quite mixed. Most people either love it or hate it... It took over 5 hours to get this one just right, so I hope you'll enjoy it! :)

Of course, when a certain shrike *AHEM* comes flying out of nowhere to ram a certain floating Heavy that just HAPPENS to have the flag... its great fun to see the reactions of people when they see a shrike flying around, I've been kicked from a server because they thougth I was using a hack to get a shrike :D

Hmm Im not sure if ts been mentioned but coudnt you put V Stations like the on in gauntlet but with a forcefeild that keeps the water out? then the vehicles shoud be spawned and then fly out through the FF. or would that cause the vehicles to crash?

Excellent map, NecroBones! The water adds greatly to Juggernaut mobility (ever tried jetting in water?) and Juggernauts can actually do some flag capping on this map. I would have given it an A+, except that it has no bot support. Keep up the good work!

Greetings from a fellow mapper! Tenchu, how do you change the gravity? I would love to do a zero-grav mission (not to steal your idea, but I have a map-in-progress that takes place in a space station w/ a failed gravity generator). P.S. Is it possible to delete the SimTerrain object and have the map remain server-side?

By far one of the best maps I've played. It adds variants on normal play which make the game more fun. Heck I made a settup based on this map. Me and my friend did a "Dolphin Attack"(Travel across the surface then dive when above enemy base.) WE had so much fun.

Ugh! Bring your chaingun on this one guys! I sloshed my way through this one, and wasn't impressed. It was annoying, almost to the point where I disconnected just for the slowness of it. I gave it a fair shake though, and it grew on me a little. I did notice that the generators destruction didn't seem to power off anything.

Great Map! I made one similar to this in Tribes1, except that it tok place in space. It too made everyone feel like newbies as they had to learn to manuever in a 0 gravity environment. There too were mixed feelings about it, newbies hated it, other people loved it. I can't wait to get started on making maps for Tribes2 but i havent found a reliable computer on which to do it. Keep up the good work! Tenchu out.

Love the map.. especially the hidden shrike with the dead guy and the bubbles :-) Good call on closing off the underwater base, though.. I made a map (scorpio) with underwater bases and every once in a while the blue tint goes away for no reason. Very strange. I'm working on Pisces right now.. underwater w/vehicles, but no pads. I found out how to make vehicles respawn :-D

Friggin' awesome map, cept for the lack of a vpad....

Good concept, but not much fun in practice yet. Players on my server complained every time this came up in rotation. I think the problem is that underwater movement is so slow that the game pace cranks way down. A variation on the idea might be to put some crucial objective underwater (forcefield generators, perhaps) but leave the main action dry.

I think it's a great concept, and looks fun to play. Vehicle pads would be nice, and ability to go inside the buildings would be great.

In response to previous comment- I had an updated version on my server -briefly-... I got vehicle stations working, but getting indoor interiors and projectiles and water-lighting to all work underwater at the same time is proving difficult. It may be a while before Ocean Floor 2 is released.

Hmm.. I thought I saw an updated version of this somewhere with forcefields, indoors and operational vehicial stations. Does anyone know where to find it, it definitely deserves an A+.

Great map! But I have solution to your water indoors prob, just put Force fields in the doorways. =P

I knew someone had to make a map that was all underwater, it's a very tempting idea. I agree that this map of map does require a complete overhaul of strategies. Because of this I doubt it will ever see professional use. However, this map is interesting because it takes getting used to and makes everyone a newb again (unless you fight underwater a lot). I think the vehicle station would have been a nice addition but I'm not sure if it would work underwater.

This is preobbaly the best custom map ive ever played. It is truely unique

(OK, so I grade all my maps as A+) .. :) Anyway, just wanted to comment on some of the other comments... I wanted to have indoors as well as vehicle pads originally, but halfway through realized that glitches in the game engine made vehicle pads not work under water, and the transition to indoors just kinda stank (fog and lighting would change very suddenly and innappropriately), so I made changes along the way. I may revisit the concept in a future map and do things differently.

Playing this map was a unique experience. You have to deveolpe whole new strategies for ever aspect of offense and defense. I can only assume there must have been problems with the underwater base, hence why its shut off. And vehicles are almost a must for this map, the Shrike and Havoc only of course. One interesting exploit of a totally underwater map is i was able to load up in a light armor with an energy pack and jet all the way up to the surface and gently float to just over the enemy flag and sink down and nab it. I reccomend placing the flag in a larger structure to prevent such a easy flag cap. Overall it was a real change of pace. Add some vehicle pads with shrikes and Havocs and we can expect some truely epic submarine battles.

Pretty cool map. There's a sort of creepyness to the darkness, or maybe I just need to reset my gamma correction. The only things I don't like about it is that you cant go inside the buildings and there's no Vpads.

i guess i am one of the haters...:(
